Ann Wahlig Memorials Total More Than $10,000

Ann Wahlig

Ann Wahlig’s support of ChildServe will live on thanks to the 124 gifts made in her honor.

On March 4, 2019, ChildServe lost one of its most enthusiastic supporters with the passing of Ann Wahlig, mother of Chief Executive Officer Teri Wahlig, MD. ChildServe was among the charities designated to receive memorial contributions and the response has been extraordinary. A total of 124 memorial gifts were made with a value of $10,016. [The volume of memorial gifts is among the most ever to ChildServe.]

Ann is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jack Wahlig, a former member of ChildServe Board of Directors and co-chair for the Vision and Great Life fundraising campaigns, and eight children, Patti, Joe, Teri, Julie, Mary, Amy, Ann and Katie.

Her zest for life was captured by this description from her obituary:
Celebrating was Ann’s love language. Rooted in deep faith, her superpower was making people feel welcome and special. The sheer force of Ann’s personality created so many precious moments and so much laughter and joy. What a legacy she leaves: say your prayers, celebrate joyfully and often, and go ahead and swear if you hit a bad golf shot.
